“Art” has made its name all around the World. Critically acclaimed in 1996 on its West End debut.  The play is now coming to the Market Theatre, Cowbridge.

Some of us watched a production of Art (a three-hander) at Cardiff’s New Theatre about three years ago.  The three characters were then acted by Nigel Havers (the son of Michael Havers, a former Lord Chancellor), Rodger Lloyd-Pack (best known for his role as Trigger in “Only Fools and Horses” and Owen in “The Vicar of Dibley”) and – Oh, dear!  I can’t remember the name of the third actor – it doesn’t matter, you won’t be asked questions about it.

Art is not a farce; it is an intellectually written play, perfectly reflecting friendships.  If Art were a piece of its namesake then Picasso would surely paint it.  The Market Theatre stage-set will be brilliantly designed and built by Jim Grove to reflect each of the character’s apartments, while Brenda grove will be busy directing the play.

Art will have you rolling in the aisles - so please resume your seats quickly as you could be a trip hazard in the dark.
